• Hunters are responsible for packing out their own game meat, if they would like to rent horses from the landowner for small additional fee they can.

Hunt details: Hunt Details:These DIY Self Guided Rifle/Archery/Muzzleloader Elk hunts on 5,500 deede acre ranch with around 10,000 acres of national forrest bordering the ranch huntes can hunt as well. These are very good DIY Self guided Trespass Elk hunts on 5,500 private acre ranch for serious hunters who can hunt hard. This ranch land-locks approximately 10,000 acres of national Forrest that public hunters can basically not get to. Success rates on the archery hunts have been around 25%-45% success on most years with around 65%- 80% shot opportunity on most years. The Rifle Season success rates varies from year to year. Muzzleloader season is usually really good with success rates from 35%-50% on most years with 60%-80% shot opportunity. Hunters will experience elk in the rut during the archery, muzzleloader and 1st Rifle season elk hunts. There are resident elk on this ranch and elk on adjacent public land. Their is a good road system on this ranch, hunters can bring their own atv or SUV. Hunters should be prepared to hunt hard and be in good physical shape.
The ranch elevation runs from around 6800ft or so to around 9,000 ft on the public ground above the ranch. The ranch has classic elk country with some aspen stands, dark timber, open clearings and meadows, some permanent water sources, oak brush, buck brush and various vegetation including a few planted agriculture crops on the lower elevation of ranch.
